Tom Franklin, Sr. Invited to Serve on Osceola County’s Back to Work Task Force

KPM Franklin is proud to recognize one of its own, Tom Franklin, Sr. for serving on Osceola County’s Back to Work Task Force. As a Kissimmee Chamber of Commerce director and chair of its government advisory committee, last week Franklin was invited to join the task force which has been charged with recommending procedures for reopening businesses that will protect employees and customers from COVID-19.

The task force also is advising Osceola County and its executive policy group, the City of Kissimmee, the City of St. Cloud and the Osceola County School District of any gaps in business assistance programs that could make it difficult for businesses to reopen.

The task force has met several times in the past 7 days and will present its recommendations to Osceola County tomorrow, Friday, April 29, 2020.

Franklin presently serves as business development advisor to KPM Franklin. He is past president and CEO of Franklin, Hart & Reid, Inc., a civil engineering and land surveying company in Kissimmee which he co-founded in 1975 and was acquired and renamed KPM Franklin in 2016. During this tenure from 1974 thru 1986, Franklin also was project manager and vice president of development for the Real Estate Corporation of Florida and Community Developers of Orange County, Inc. Prior to this, Franklin was supervisor and director of land surveying for A. R. Toussaint & Associates in North Miami.

Franklin has been involved in Osceola County and City of Kissimmee communities for more than 50 years. In addition to his current role with the Kissimmee Chamber of Commerce, Franklin is a past member of the Osceola County Board of County Commissioners, past chairman of the Osceola County Transportation Committee for Osceola Parkway, founder and past president of Osceola Construction Industries, past director of the Osceola Chamber of Commerce and served as a member of the Osceola County Planning Commission for more than 20 years.
