On February 8, 2025, KPM Franklin participated in the University of Central Florida (UCF) UCF College of Engineering & Computer Science (CECS) 2025 College Showcase, an event that brought together industry leaders to speak to aspiring UCF engineering students. Robby Moon, P.E., our CEO, shared valuable insights about land development, underscoring our commitment to advancing civil engineering practices.
The industry panel was moderated by Manoj Chopra, UCF CECS Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, and included distinguished panelists from notable organizations such as Northrop Grumman Defense Systems, Naval Nuclear Laboratory, Universal Destinations & Experiences, and Duke Energy Florida. Each speaker brought a unique perspective, contributing to a rich discussion around working on the civil engineering and computer science fields.
After the panel discussion, Juan Gonzalez, P.E., project manager, along with Alex Wenzel, engineering intern, greeted students at KPM Franklin’s designated table during the CECS Showcase Expo. Our expo display included a table-top miniature replica of an underground drainage system from a recently completed restaurant project in Orlando. This engaging model not only illustrated the innovative design strategies employed by our project engineers, but also served as a visual conversation starter. Students eager to delve into the intricacies of civil engineering found themselves captivated by the hands-on demonstration of real-world applications.
We extend our gratitude to the UCF College of Engineering & Computer Science for inviting KPM Franklin to participate in the college showcase. It was an honor to be part of a gathering that celebrated the bright future of engineering and the pivotal role our industry plays in shaping the world around us.
