Survey FDOT Right-of-Way Mapper – Kissimmee Office

KPM Franklin is a rapidly growing civil engineering and land surveying firm seeking a full-time survey FDOT right-of-way mapper for our Orlando or Kissimmee office. Ideal candidates will have 2-5 years of FDOT right-of-way mapping experience; knowledge of FDOT surveying and mapping policies and procedures; and be proficient with Geopak, MicroStation SS4, MicroStation and OpenRoads software. This person will perform QA/QC of FDOT right of way control surveys and maps, assist with managing FDOT projects and ensure compliance with FDOT CAD standards and all other FDOT policies and procedures. Additional responsibilities include preparing sketch and legal descriptions, training staff in FDOT right-of-way mapping procedures and CAD standards; and performing QA/QC reviews of all survey and mapping products to ensure data is processed at a high-level of geometric accuracy according the Standards of Practice in Chapter 5j-17 of the Florida Administrative Code.

Desired Project Management Expertise
• Perform QA/QC of FDOT right of way control surveys and maps
• Assist with managing FDOT projects

Education, Experience and Software Requirements
• High school diploma or GED certificate
• Minimum 2-5 years of FDOT right-of-way mapping experience
• Knowledge of FDOT surveying and mapping policies and procedures
• Proficient with Geopak, MicroStation SS4, MicroStation and OpenRoads software

Desired Skills and Experience, but not required
• Bachelor’s or associate degree in land surveying or related field
• Professional surveyor and mapper (PSM) Florida license
• NSPS certified survey technician (CST) certification
• AutoCAD Civil 3D experience
• LiDAR processing and/or extraction software experience

Job Type: Full-time
Travel: Occasional travel to client meetings and project sites
Pay: $70,000 to $90,000 annual salary
