Survey CAD Technician – Kissimmee Office

KPM Franklin is a rapidly growing civil engineering and land surveying firm seeking a full-time survey CAD tech for our Kissimmee office. Ideal candidates will and have 2-5 years of survey CAD tech experience and be proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D. This person will process field data, perform deed and utility research, run traverse closures, reduce level notes and finalize survey drawings; read and interpret survey maps, construction plans and utility plans; prepare sketch and descriptions; process and map field data understand boundary surveys, topographic surveys, control surveys, construction layout and staking, ALTA/NSPS land title surveys and plats; and ensure data is processed at a high-level of accuracy according to Standards of Practice in Chapter 5j-17 of the Florida Administrative Code.

Project Management Responsibilities
• Process field data, perform deed and utility research, run traverse closures, reduce level notes and finalize survey drawings
• Read and interpret survey maps, construction plans and utility plans
• Prepare sketch and descriptions
• Process and map field data
• Understand boundary surveys, topographic surveys, control surveys, construction layout and staking, ALTA/NSPS land title surveys and plats
• Ensure data is processed at a high-level of accuracy according to Standards of Practice in Chapter 5j-17 of the Florida Administrative Code

Education, Experience and Software Requirements
• High school diploma or GED certificate
• Minimum 2-5 years of survey CAD tech experience
• Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D

Desired Skills and Experience, but not required
• Bachelor’s or associate degree in land surveying
• Professional surveyor and mapper (PSM) Florida license
• NSPS certified survey technician (CST) certification
• Geopak, MicroStation SS4, MicroStation and OpenRoads software experience
• FDOT Work Group 8 surveying and mapping standards and procedures experience
• LiDAR processing and/or extraction software experience

• Motivation to follow instructions completely while working in rough terrain and all-weather conditions
• Solid verbal and written communication skills
• Good math skills related to surveying

Job Type: Full-time
Travel: Occasional travel to client meetings and project sites
Pay: $40,000 to $75,000 annual salary
