Family Dollar Store Drainage Improvements

Project Overview

Project Summary

KPM Franklin provided professional engineering and surveying services to Osceola County for the Family Dollar store drainage improvements project. KPM Franklin addressed an erosion issue and drainage in a ditch located on Simpson Road, which included limited boundary and limited topographic survey as a basis for the conceptual and final engineering design.

The project involved removing the two existing 36-inch reinforced concrete mitered end sections, extending the two existing 36-inch reinforced concrete pipe (RCP) 173 linear feet, adding three interim ditch bottom inlets to realign the stormwater pipes, and ultimately discharging into the existing Buena Ventura Lakes (BVL_56) with a double 36-inch pipe headwall and 45-degree wing walls.

This project was done in part of a continuing services contract with Osceola County. Permitting was completed with Osceola County public works department, the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) and Florida Department of environmental Protection (FDEP).

The scope of work included boundary survey, topographic survey, permitting assistance and post design services
