Right Turn Lane is Important Safety Feature

The recent completion of an off-site right turn lane connecting the main entrance driveway of Pointe Grand Davenport to U.S. Highway 17-92 adds an important safety design feature to this multi-family residential development project in Polk County, Florida.

The right turn lane will provide future residents with a dedicated lane on U.S. Highway 17-92 for slowing down and entering the apartment development safely and without impacting faster traffic in the west through lane.

KPM Franklin’s David Gelalia is the civil engineering project manager tasked with ensuring that the connecting driveway, sidewalk, crosswalk and turn lane designs meet Polk County and FDOT standards. The design also includes revisions to the raised island in the middle of U.S. 17-92.

KPM Franklin also prepared a maintenance of traffic (MOT) plan identifying work zones, barricades and sign locations on U.S. 17-92 and Ronald Reagan Parkway for temporary detours and sidewalk, roadway and bicycle lane closures.

Pointe Grand Davenport is owned and managed by Hillpointe, a real estate development and investment management firm headquartered in Winter Park, Florida. The development is scheduled to open during the summer of 2024.
