UCF ASCE Chapter Land Development 101

KPM Franklin recently presented Land Development 101 to members of the University of Central Florida (UCF) American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) student chapter. Robby Moon P.E., CEO, and Alex Goetz P.E., vice president of Orlando engineering, presented an overview of the civil engineering design process from concept to completion for land development projects.

Students learned about typical services provided by civil engineers, drafting software and other technologies used throughout a project and how civil engineers work with various partner disciplines such as land surveyors, geotechnical engineers, environmental consultants, land use attorneys, land planners and transportation and traffic engineers.

The presentation also included a project case study from a site design at a local college which showed how KPM Franklin designed the infrastructure for the Valencia College campus in Poinciana.

KPM Franklin is honored to support the UCF ASCE student chapter and participate in events like this one which provide undergraduates with a glimpse of what to expect in the future working full-time as a licensed professional engineer.
