Osceola County Stormwater Drainage Improvements

Project Overview

Project Summary

KPM Franklin provided civil engineering and land surveying services for improvements to a stormwater drainage system in an easement on the north side of the Family Dollar Store location on Simpson Road in Kissimmee. The project was performed under KPM Franklin’s civil engineering and surveying and mapping continuing services contracts with Osceola County.

The project repaired an erosion issue in the drainage ditch which directs stormwater runoff west from Simpson Road into the Buena Ventura Lakes BVL-56 stormwater pond.

Two existing 36-inch reinforced mitered concrete end sections were replaced by three inlets in the bottom of the ditch to drain into a pair of existing 36-inch reinforced concrete pipes which were extended 173 feet west to discharge into the stormwater pond.

Civil engineering services provided to Osceola County Public Works included conceptual site layout plan, overall site plan, demolition plan, paving and grading plan, drainage plan, landscape architectural design plan, stormwater pollution prevention plan, Osceola County and Florida Department of Environmental Protection pre-application meetings and permitting assistance, South Florida Water Management District modification letter and construction administration.

KPM Franklin performed limited boundary and topographic surveys as a basis for the conceptual site layout and final engineering design.
