APWA Orlando Wetlands Park Tour

Bob Butterfield, PE, senior project engineer, attended the Central Florida American Public Works Association’s (APWA) recent tour of the Orlando Wetlands Park located near Christmas, FL. The park provides advanced treatment of reclaimed water by using wetlands. The tour included a presentation of how the advanced treatment system works, and a tour of the inflow, flow through and outflow for the reclaimed water. This visit showed an opportunity to walk over the newly constructed 2,200 ft long cypress boardwalk offering spectacular views of alligators and many different species of birds and fish that are part of the great sanctuary this facility provides.
